Matt is a litigator and trial attorney representing clientele in mass tort, wildfires, and complex business litigation. He has represented thousands of victims of major wildfires caused by utility companies, governmental entities and landowners. He has helped secured millions of dollars in pre-trial settlements for fire victims, representing California clients in the Dixie Fire (2021), Fairview Fire (2022), Mosquito Fire (2022), and Airport Fire (2024). He also represents hundreds of victims of the devastating Maui Fires (2023) where a tentative $4 billion settlement has been reached.

Matt was named to the 2024 and 2025 San Diego Super Lawyers lists, an honor reserved for the top 5% of attorneys in San Diego. He graduated magna cum laude from Pepperdine University School of Law and was formerly an equity partner at the world’s largest business law firm DLA Piper LLP. He has litigated hundreds of cases to resolution through trial, arbitration and settlement. Matt litigates in state and federal courts throughout the United States, and his experience in these areas ranges across pre-dispute counseling, mediation, arbitration, trial and appellate practice.
