Title and Deed Disputes
"Title" is a legal term for a bundle of rights in a piece of property in which a party may own either a legal interest or an equitable interest. A "deed" is the written document which transfers title (ownership) or an interest in real property to another person of entity. Because every change of ownership in real estate usually involves the transfer of title by way of a deed, it is not uncommon for disagreements over real estate to involve title or deed disputes.
Courts may award damages to a person or entity that has been improperly treated due to a title or deed deficiency. These damages can come through the award of money or through injunctive relief. If a Court awards injunctive relief, they may correct the deed or title through a Court Order.
